Mary Magdalene Hollingsworth

Mary Magdalene Hollingsworth, affectionately known and loved by family and friends, peacefully departed this life on June 9, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on November 5, 1936, in Berry, Alabama. In the 1950s, Mary relocated to New York, a place she cherished and always considered home. In July 2002, she moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she continued to build cherished memories with her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mozella and Sam Whitson, parents, Kathleen and David Johnson; her husband, Richard Martin; her beloved daughter, Michele Lockhart; and her sisters, Rovena Hollingsworth and Orgie Cox.

She leaves to cherish her memory her birth children: Jerry Hollingsworth, Michael Hollingsworth, Fritzie Owens, Bouche Hollingsworth, Saveria Jones, and Regina Hollingsworth. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her devoted and special friend, Sam Lowry.

Mary's life was a testament of love, resilience, faith, and strength. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In accordance with Mary wishes, a private family viewing was held on June 11, 2026 and Mary will be memorialized in New York, the place she lovingly called "home."
