Mother Willie Agnes Wheeler (Williams)

Mother Willie Agnes Wheeler (Williams) was born on May 7, 1928, in the Mississippi Delta, the only child of Artelia Wheeler Harris.

She accepted Christ at the age of 12 and later began singing with the Silvertone Singers, a gospel quartet formed by her mother which was the first female quartet to sing on the radio in Vicksburg, Mississippi.  Later, she served on the Mother’s Board of New Fellowship Baptist Church prior to moving to California. As she continued her service to the Lord with a revival of the Silvertone Singers, she added her daughter to the group and spent her remaining years singing and serving as a missionary to the homeless and helpless in and around Long Beach, California as a member of Jesus Dwelling Church.

Mother Wheeler Williams adored her family. She also loved to fish and would never miss an opportunity to do so. She loved to make people laugh and she was very good at it. She lit up every room that she was in with the light of God that was in her.

She is preceded in home going by her mother: Artelia Wheeler Harris; daughters: Beatrice Bess & Janice Williams and grandsons Davon & Robert Nash.

She will be cherished and fondly remembered by her children: Harlan (Pat) Nash, Calvin Williams, Beverly Nash, Prophetess Lola Nash-Jackson, Charlotte (Michael) Rudolph, Versietta (John) Garrett, Marian Wilson: Cousin: Harvey (Kathy) Johnson, Jr.; grandchildren; Migdanah, Neshiyqah, Shappir, Sasown, Lyndell, LaTonya, Michelle, Cedric, Calvin Jr., Evan, Drew, Shelese, Charlene, Daniel, Elijah, Abraham, Chris, Nathan, Derik, Bryant, Raphael, Deanthony, Diamond, Destiny, Jamar, 29 great grandchildren, special bonus daughters: Elder Juanita Mangum, Patrice Weldon, Edna Mae Lewis; other loving relatives, her church family at Jesus Dwelling Church and many friends.
