Deacon Arnavea Feagin Jr., 71, was comforted by his loving wife as he made his transition from this life on earth to be with the Lord.
Arnavea Jr. was born August 18, 1951, to the late Arnavea Feagin Sr. and the late Electa (Jordan) Feagin in Mansfield and was a resident of Ontario for most of his life. He was a graduate of Malabar High School.
Arnavea Jr. was a member of Maddox Memorial C.O.G.I.C. He worked for Therm-O-Disc Inc. He was also a former contractor for McKinley Roofing and was a bus driver for the Mansfield City Schools. He held various titles in the church including a Sunday School Teacher and he also assisted the Sunday School Superintendent. He was the President of Y.P.W.W., Minister of Music for the choir, a Deacon, and a Trustee. He loved to fish, play tennis, swim, and play basketball. He was a Man of God who lived his life on Christian values and principles. He was a loving husband, brother, and uncle. He loved his wife of 47 years and all of his family immensely. He showed us through his expressions of love, generosity, and words of divine wisdom and encouragement. To know him was to love him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he has touched. He is forever loved and cherished and never will be forgotten.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife; Opherine Feagin, his brother Roccio Feagin; four sisters, Brenda and Jacqueline Feagin, both of Mansfield, Mellissa (Sean) Hinton of Toledo, Theresa (Robert) Harris of Detroit, Michigan; 4 sisters-in-laws, Sarah Feagin of Birmingham, Alabama, Mary Brown of Mansfield, Joyce Brown of St. Petersburg, Florida, Stella Richardson of Arlington, Tennessee, a brother in law, Arnold (Frances) Brown, friends, and a host of nieces and nephews, who he loved as his own.
In addition to his parents, Arnavea Jr. was also preceded in death by his brothers, Marcus and Leonard Feagin; Mother and Father-in Law, Earnest and Zelma Brown, 2 sisters-in-law, Earstine Brown, Patricia Feagin and a brother-in-law, Albert Brown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM at the Maddox Memorial C.O.G.I.C. by his Pastor Aaron Williams, Jr. Friends may call at the church one-hour prior beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow and be in Mansfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will also receive friends at 1379 Beechdale Drive on Thursday 5:00 – 8:00 PM and Friday from 6:00- 8:00PM.
