It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Odell Hines Jr., who peacefully left this world on July 12, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 13, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, Odell was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Throughout his life, Odell exemplified hard work and dedication as a skilled mechanic in the service industry. He forged a remarkable career driven by his hands-on expertise and unwavering work ethic. His readiness to lend a helping hand and share guidance with others made him a cherished figure in the lives of many. Odell enjoyed the tranquility of fishing during his leisure time, finding peace in nature’s embrace.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Hines, his father Odell Hines Sr., his mother Helen L. Hines, his sister Odessa Wilson, and his son Odell Hines III (Champ), as well as his stepson, Antwan Griffin.

He is survived by his loving brother John (Betty) Hines, sisters Jacqueline (Jeffrey) Payne, Margaret Jones, and Gwendolyn Hines, along with stepchildren Cameo Griffin, Jovan Shaw, Cassanova Griffin, and Dana Shaw. His legacy continues through his grandson Deangrlo Shaw and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. Close friends Bill, Chuck, Carlotta, Glenn, Willastine, Shannon, and Dion also mourn his passing, each holding dear the memories they shared.

Odell Hines Jr. will always be remembered for his gentle spirit, steadfast dedication to family and friends, and the love he shared throughout his life. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
