A life Well Lived….
Ollie Jean Brooks, (92 years young), a beloved member of the Mansfield Community passed away peacefully at home on Saturday January 10th, 2026 surrounded by her family. Ollie was born in Mansfield, Ohio on November 27th,1933 to Alonzo and Lillian Clemons. Ollie leaves behind a legacy of Kindness, laughter, joy and unwavering love.
Ollie was a lifelong Mansfield resident who attended Mansfield City Schools graduating in 1952. She was a Charter Member of the Greater St. John Oasis of Love COGIC.
Her hobbies included playing Nintendo video games, games on the computer/tablet and strolling Facebook. She also enjoyed cooking, crafting her famous Money-Shirts and beaded Angels and Lamps, watching her favorite TV shows such as the Game Show Network Channel, Soap Operas ‘Young and the Restless’ and ‘Bold and the Beautiful’, and her sporting events which included Football, Basketball and her all-time favorite Wrestling while in the company of her family.
She started her work career at the Mansfield City Schools as a Custodian before getting a job at Westinghouse where she worked 22 years before retiring in 1990. Still wanting to keep busy, she returned to work part-time at the Mansfield Post Office and the Greater St. John Oasis of Love Day Care Center (which gave her joy being with the children) until she was ready and committed to fully retiring.
Ollie leaves to cherish in her memory 3 sons, John (Renee) Brooks, Edward (Brenda) Brooks, and Tracy Brooks; 3 daughters, Lillian Webb, Donna (Monroe Carter) Brooks, and Kimberly (Lyna) Mitchell; 17 Grandchildren, 82 Great-Grandchildren, 51 Great, Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great, Great, Great-Grandchild Krysen Harris; 2 Sister-in-laws, Melinda Clemons and Marjorie Fields; 3 Brother-in-laws, Willie Brooks, William (Ann) Brooks, and John (Angela) Brooks and a host of Nieces and Nephews whom she loved and spoiled very much.
Ollie was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Edward Brooks Sr., 3 brothers Joe, Henry, and Eugene Clemons; 2 sisters Willie Pearl (Midge) Minor and Classie Jackson; 4 Grandsons Darrin Brooks, Andre Brooks Sr., Myron (Parnell) Webb and Micheal Brooks; and 2 Great-Grandchildren Andre Brooks Jr. and Lanaya Brooks.
