Pamela Bonita Kirtley

Pamela Bonita Kirtley, lovingly known as "Pam", was born on March 2, 1958, and entered eternal rest on May 22, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.

Pam was educated through the Columbus Public School system and graduated from Marion Franklin High School. She furthered her education at Bliss College.

Pam's interest in the justice system began when she started her career with the State of Ohio, Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (DRC) in 1984. She was employed as a Correctional Officer and retired on September 30, 2017, after 33 years of exceptional and dedicated service.

Pam loved spending quality time with her family and friends. She also had a passion for singing and became a member of the Harmony Project, an organization that provides inspirational music and entertainment for major corporations and community-based organizations seeking to create powerful and impactful programs. Pam's love for music also led her to raise her voice for the Lord. She was a faithful member of Greater Twelfth Baptist Church, now known as Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she served on the praise and worship team and sang in the choir.

Though Pam's voice could sometimes seem stern, her love for others will never be forgotten. She will also be remembered for her radiant smile and her constant willingness to help others throughout her life journey.

Pamela is preceded in death by her father: Nevorlia Kirtley; and her fabulous cat: "NIP".

Pamela's spirit will forever live in the hearts of her Mother: Virginia Kirtley; Brothers: Larry Kirtley, Thomas (Patty) Kirtley, Keith (Karen) Kirtley all of Columbus, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Streeter of Vinton, Virginia; her Goddaughter: Kendretta Short; her Best Friend Pam Hill; and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and Friends.
