Patricia Jean Greenfield

Jan 23, 1953 — Jun 12, 2026

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceitful, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

Proverbs 31:28–30

In Loving Memory of Patricia Jean Greenfield (née Ellis)

Patricia Jean Greenfield (née Ellis), 73, of Columbus, Ohio, entered her heavenly home on June 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and sustained by her unwavering faith in Christ.

Born on January 23, 1953, in Gadsden, Alabama, Patricia moved to Cleveland, Ohio, as an infant. She graduated from Glenville High School in 1971, attended Kent State University, and enjoyed a successful career with Nationwide Insurance until her retirement in 2007.

Patricia had a gift for making others feel loved and cared for. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and kind heart brightened every room. She found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, expressing her love through her nurturing presence and cherished Southern home-cooked meals that brought family together.

She enjoyed watching sports, weekly conversations with her siblings, and spending time with loved ones. Above all, she treasured her family and the memories they created together.

A faithful servant of the Lord, Patricia was a dedicated member of Love Zion Baptist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Ministry and found joy in fellowship through D.N.O.G., a small group ministry. Her faith was evident in her compassion, service, and love for others.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her treasured husband of 50 years, Scott Greenfield; her beloved daughter, Elise Greenfield; her son, Eugene (Walaa) Greenfield; her grandchildren, Eisa, Asiyah-Noor, Ilyas, and Adam; her siblings, Shirley (Reginald) Williams, Beatrice Brasfield, William (Angie) Ellis, Linda Ellis, and Gloria Renée (Jimmy) Colbert; her mother-in-law, Shirley Douglas; her sister-in-law, Kim (David) Muhammad; her brother-in-law, Wesley (Ruth) Greenfield, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her devoted daughter, Eee Lyn Greenfield; her parents, Lucy Pearl Ellis (née Rogers) and Paul Ellis; and her brother, Bobby O. Ellis.

While we mourn her absence, we rejoice in knowing Patricia is reunited with loved ones in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved her.

The Greenfield family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who provided care, offered acts of kindness, lifted prayers, and surrounded them with love and support throughout this journey. Your compassion and generosity have been a source of strength and comfort, and your thoughtfulness will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
