Paul Roger Briggs

Paul Roger Briggs, Age 86 departed this life on August 6th, 2026. Paul was born to the late Charlie Briggs and Faye L. Briggs on February 28th, 1940 in Gallipolis OH.

He was preceded in death by his Parents Charlie and Faye Briggs Pettis, sister Audra Scott, and brothers George, William “Teddy”, Charles, and Dayton Briggs.

Upon moving to Columbus, OH Paul attended and graduated from East High School. While in Zanesville, OH on a skating trip with his brothers, he met ,and later married, Nancy Williams Briggs. To this union was born Faye’Lynn and Paula Lynn Briggs.

He served in the United States Army as a tank driver in Germany during the Vietnam War, and after an honorable discharge Paul was employed with the United States Postal Service for 40 years as a mail carrier.

Over the years Paul acquired many hobbies. He joined a bowling league, picked up a camera and tried his hand at photography, and had a race car; a1968 Camaro named Black Magic that won him many trophies throughout the Midwest. He also had a 1964 Corvette that he only drove in parades, and on sunny days.

His greatest hobby of all was golfing. He liked golfing so much that he had his Grandson, Kason Paul Briggs, a set of golf clubs made before he could walk so that he could teach him the game. For years they could be found side by side at the Golf course.

If you came into the house you find Paul doing his usual, sitting in the middle of the floor playing with the grandkids, spoiling them, and keeping them happy.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory his former wife Nancy Briggs, his daughters Faye’Lynn (Kwaku) Owusu, and Paula Lynn Briggs – also known as his twin and “Right hand man,” his granddaughters Jerryca JaNance Paule Pettway, and Kachelle Rosetta (Camron)Roark, Kaleah Sarah Briggs, his grandson Kason Paul Briggs, and great-granddaughters Jerri’Lynn Rose Pettway, and Zoey Amor and Mya Rose Roark, brother James (Margaret) Briggs, sister-in-law Mary Briggs, and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to offer a special Thank You to Paul’s niece, Minister Dorothy (Briggs) Starks for visiting and praying with him during these last couple years. You are greatly appreciated.
