Pearl V. Black was the second child of the late Arnold and Irene Lusby Sr. Pearl was born in Salem, NJ on March 23, 1937. She departed this life on May 8, 2025.

Pearl attended Salem School System after finishing school she was a line worker at Anchor Hocking glass factor. Pearl was preceded in death by her loving husband Delarcy Black Jr., Son Alvonzia Darson Jr., and Brothers Rodney, Arnold & Sylvestern Lusby.

Pearl Leaves to cherish her memories children: Darlene V (Clifford) Angerville Mansfield OH, Thomas (Felicia) Darson Newark DE, Tyrone Darson Mansfield, OH Paul Dondi (Lucretia) Darson Copperas Cove, TX Stepson Kevin Black Mansfield, OH. Daughters in Love Marilyn Scott, Mansfield, OH and Margie Darson, Glen Cove, NY. Godchildren Devin King Silver Springs, MA Germaine King Sacramento CA 2 sisters Jerline Murray Wilmington, DE, and Audrey Hines Pedricktown, NJ Sisters in Love Janice Lusby of Williamstown, NJ Blanche Lusby Salem, NJ. 25 Grandchildren, 47 Great- grandchildren and 2 Great-great-grandchildren. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. Special friends Ann Lindsey and Mary McDonald Mansfield, OH

In 1968 Pearl moved her family to Mansfield, OH where she became a Lifetime member of Greater Mitchell Chapel A.M.E. Church. Pearl was a founding member of the Ina Lee Missionary Society. Pearl became the North Ohio Conference worship leader, later the 3rd district worship leader. Pearl led a devotional at the 16th session of the WMS Quadrennial Convention. Pearl was awarded the "Torch Lighter" for 25 Years of service and the Trail Blazer award of the North Ohio Conference. Pearl volunteered at Community Action Friendship Center and Yes, We Can Seniors Center where she taught Bible Studies and other activities. Pearl volunteered for Samaritan Purse and Alzheimer's Association. She was the Activity Director at Lexington Court Nursing Home.

Pearl was always ready to help anyone in need. Everyone Pearl met was family. If you ever went to Pearl's house, she'd have anything you would need. It was amazing to see her go into a closet, box or drawer and pull-out clothes of all sizes. Pearl loved to walk, crochet and sit on her porch to watch the sun rise & fall. Pearl also loved to travel all we had to say was do you want to go, and she was ready. Pearl was always picking up children and adults to take them to church. Pearl always had a word of encouragement to share about the LORD.
