Phyllis Jane Manigoe was the only child born to Douglas Jackson and Susie Truss in Springfield, Ohio. She grew up in a loving home with both parents present. Phyllis loved everyone she came in contact with. She was full of life always joking, doing funny facial gestures which her favorite was sticking out her tongue.
Phyllis grew up in Springfield, Ohio and spent most of her childhood there. She later moved to Steubenville, Ohio where she attended and graduated from Steubenville High School. She then moved to Columbus, Ohio and started working at Defense Supply Center Columbus formerly known as Columbus General Depot immediately following high school. During her time at the Depot, she met Joseph Manigoe whom she fell deeply in love with and they were married soon after and out of that union their baby girl Jacqueline was born.
Phyllis was a hard-working woman who loved fashion. She was known to always be dressed to the nine. She enjoyed bowling, playing the piano and most of all shopping. Phyllis retired after 38 years of service at DSCC. she was a woman of noble character, wisdom, strength, strong, trustworthy, and very influential. She stood firm on the solid rock of Christ.
Phyllis was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church for 62 years. She centered her home around prayer with excellence supported her family with everything in her life and have a very high respect for God. She leaves to cherish her memory her only daughter Jacqueline D. Manigoe, grandchildren, Maurice, Bryan and Malory Bush. Great grandchildren; Da’Ron, Ma’Hogani and MaHari Long, Toi Hinkle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and Best Florence Rooker.
