Prince Dossen entered this world as a beacon of joy to his parents, Sarah Gbeyan and Joshua Dossen on December 13, 2004, in Montserrado County, Liberia. From his earliest days, he carried a quiet brilliance, a blend of curiosity, warmness and an unmistakable love for life. Prince was a young man of intellect and ambition. He started his educational journey at the ST. Michael Catholic school in New Georgia Estate. He later enrolled at the Liberia Christian Community school (LCC) in Shoes Factory (Gardnerville), where he graduated from High school in 2022. In 2023, he pursued his passion for technology at the Starz University in Airfield, studying Computer Science, where he dreamed of innovating and shaping the digital world. Yet, beyond the codes and algorithms, his heart beat for another art, music. Whether humming a tune, sharing songs with friends, or losing himself in melodies, music was his escape and his joy. Prince’s magic laid in his interpersonal warmth. To his friends he was more than a companion, he was a confidant; the one who listened, laughed, and lifted spirits effortlessly. His kindness was his signature, his laughter a gift. In 2019, His mother filed in for his paperwork so that he would reunite with them to the United States. He later became ill in 2024 and was taken to several hospitals in and around Monrovia where he was diagnosed with Duodenal ulcers. His mother spent endlessly on his treatments hoping for recovery, but his condition got worse by the minute.
Prince finally reunited with his family in the United States on May 17th, 2025; and due to the severity of the illness, he was taken straight to Mount Carmel Hospital where he was diagnosed with stage four (4) colorectal cancer, and was transferred to James Cancer, OSU Hospital. He faced this new diagnosis with faith and strength in the Lord. His mother, some close family members and friends stood by him, hoping for a miracle, but on August 12, 2025, the will of the Lord was done, and the world lost a prince, not by title, but by the nobility of his spirit.
Prince Dossen’s time was brief, but his imprint is eternal. In the hearts of those who loved him, he remains: The Dreamer who believed in tomorrow, The Musician whose songs lingers, The Friend whose love knew no bounds. Though silence replaces his voice, the echoes of his life play on in memories, in music, in the code he left unwritten, and in the love that outlives him. Rest well, Prince. Your melody lives on.
