Born on March 6, 1948, Elder Mix dedicated his life to the service of God and the advancement of his Kingdom. When he was 14 years old, Robert came to Columbus, OH to live with his Uncle Robert and Aunt Thelma Mix.
For many years, he worked with unwavering commitment at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company while also devoting his heart and soul to the Army of the Lord. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as an adult and experienced a profound transformation that led him to elevate his leadership within the church- from minister to elder and ultimately to pastor. His passionate and faithful service was exemplified during his tenure at Metropolitan Bibleway Church in the late 1990's, where he played a vital role in transforming lives and spreading the Gospel.
Elder Mix was renowned for his powerful baritone voice, which resonated deeply in his beloved songs including, "Jesus On The Inside" and "It's A Bubblin". His music delivered anointed messages that touched the hearts and inspired worship among his congregation.
A true disciple of Christ, Elder Mix was steadfast in his mission to share the Gospel, reaching out to those in need both in the hedges and highways. His persistence in proclaiming the Word of the Lord encouraged many to understand the path to salvation. His discipleship led him to the street ministries and prison ministries where he brought many lives to Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents: Villa Lee Hardwell Mix and Willie Mix; his cherished wife: Joyce A. Mix; his sisters: Unetia Scott and Mary Mix; his brothers: Jimmie, Willie, Julius and Joel Mix and his beloved daughter: Anna Mix.
Elder Mix leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and strength; cherished by his Children: Michael (Natasha) Mix, Antonio (Lori) Watson, Nina (Daniel) Austin and Tasha Mix and God-Daughter: Velvett Mitchell.
