Robert Lewis Robinson Jr.

Robert Lewis Sims-Robinson Jr. age 78 departed this life on May 25, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.

Lewis, as he was so affectionately called, was born on August 2, 1947 in Atlanta Georgia to Robert L. And Dollie E. (Jackson) Robinson.

Robert and Dollie relocated to Columbus, Ohio due to his oldest brother wanting them to move to Ohio for better opportunities. When he was young he joined Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and later attended New Covenant Believers Church.

Lewis attended Roosevelt Junior High and South High School where he excelled in wrestling, ultimately winning the State Championship. He spent a short stint in the Military, after which he returned home and eventually joined the family business, Robinson and Sons' Body Shop and working there with his father: Robert; brother: Jerry; son: Robbie Robinson lll; and nephews: Jerry Robinson Jr. and Dwayne Goolsby. The business sent Lewis and Dwayne to school to become frame and fender repair specialist.

Lewis decided to purchase a motorcycle, as he enjoyed riding and joined the Eagles Motorcycle Club, along with his brother Jerry.

He later met and was joined in marriage to Geraldine Patterson and to this union one daughter was born, Shuronda Howard.

Lewis is preceded in death by his father: Robert L. Sims-Robinson Sr.; his mother: Dollie E. Robinson; brother: Jerry D. Robinson Sr. and stepson: Eldrado Patterson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Wife: Geraldine Robinson; his Children: Robert (Robbie) Robinson lll, Lisa A. Alexander, Nicole D. Robinson, Eric C. Robinson, Christopher L. Howard, and Shuronda M. Howard; Sister: Janet Robinson; Sister-in-Law: Louise Robinson; Sister/Cousin: Jackie Sims Marbrey all of Columbus, Ohio and a host of Grandchildren, Great- Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins other relatives and friends.
