Robert Paul Seals, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud American patriot, was called from this life to heavenly reward on the morning of Saturday, January 31, 2026, following a brief but progressive illness. He departed this life in peace, having completed his earthly journey with strength, dignity, and assurance.
Robert was born on September 16, 1963, in Akron, Ohio, to Paul Seals and the late Anna Ruth Seals. He was raised in Akron and later moved with his family to Warren, Ohio, where he graduated high school. Answering the call to serve his country, Robert joined the United States Army, beginning a distinguished military career defined by discipline, courage, and unwavering commitment.
Robert served the United States Army with honor and pride as a member of the elite Army Special Forces, known as the Green Berets. Highly trained and deeply dedicated, he carried out missions throughout the world, including parachuting from aircraft. His service reflected not only bravery, but a steadfast sense of duty to protect and serve others.
Robert was truly a multitalented man. He was an excellent cook, a master craftsman, and a gifted builder who could create nearly anything from the ground up with his own hands. He enjoyed football, especially the Cleveland Browns, loved jazz music, and took great pride in his collection of model cars. Most of all, Robert believed in helping others who were genuinely striving to do their best, often offering his skills, wisdom, and time without seeking recognition.
For over 30 years, Robert worked for the City of Columbus in the Water Division. A master of his trade, he was often seen in city trucks performing water inspections, applying his extensive plumbing knowledge and industry expertise to ensure the Columbus community was served with excellence.
Robert accepted Christ at an early age and lived out a quiet, personal faith that guided his life. He was not one to seek attention for his good works, living instead by his favorite scripture: “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.” - Matthew 6:1 His faith, determination, strong work ethic, resilience, and unwavering perseverance shaped every step of his journey. While his passing leaves a deep sense of loss, we trust that God knows best. Robert’s earthly work was completed, and he transitioned from this life at peace.
Robert is proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents; Robert Hazley II and Sweeite Mae Hazley, and paternal grandparents; Paul Seals Sr. and Ethel Lee Surry, Mother; Anna Ruth Seals.
Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory his father; Paul Seals II., wife; Rozanne Seals; his son; Robert Paul Seals II., grandson; Robert Paul Seals III; brother; Marlon Earl (Teresa) Seals, his sisters; Dee Anna Lynn Davis and Eugina Louise McMillion, his best friend; Kevin “Gino” Ellison, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
