Roberta R Upshaw

Roberta R. Upshaw, 92, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away. She was at The Oakwood Skilled Living Facility. She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on October 7, 1933, to the late Benjamin and Dollie Upshaw.

Roberta retired from Wright-Patterson AFB after 45+ years. A graduate of Springfield South High School. She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was the church clerk for 50+ years and also served on the trustee board for 50+ years. The church just retired her from the position of church clerk; we, the family, knew that she really took pride in being the church clerk and on the trustee board.

Roberta sang not only in the church choirs but also in many other choirs at other churches and around the city.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Benjamin Upshaw, and one nephew: Glen Andrews (Cincinnati, Ohio).

Roberta leaves behind a Sister: Mary Upshaw, living in Yellow Springs, Ohio at Friends Community Care Center. She has several Nieces and Nephews: Michael Upshaw (Dayton, Ohio), Nina Clark (Springfield, Ohio), Roberta Upshaw-Perry (Yellow Springs, Ohio), Terry Darby and Benneta Davis of Springfield, Ohio and Cathy Upshaw (South Carolina). She has several Great and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews... including three Special Nieces: Terry Darby, Michelle Upshaw- Jones and Kamilah Darby; we give them special thanks for caring for their Aunt from her earlier sick times until her death.
