Ronald Kelley, Sr.

May 18, 1955 — August 11, 2025

Ronald Kelley Sr., born May 18, 1955, and passed away August 11, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, was dearly loved and mourned by many. With heavy hearts, we announce the loss of Ronald Kelley Sr., who left this life on August 11, 2025, at age 70 in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Born on May 18, 1955, he was the cherished son of Roy Kelley Sr. and Albertina Kelley. A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he carried himself with quiet strength and dignity. Ronald dedicated 43 years to the Franklin County Engineer's Office, where he was respected for his dedication, integrity, and old-school work ethic.

He was a devoted husband to Marguerite C. Kelley and a loving father to his children: Tamika Ranson, Ayanna Ransom, Ronrika A. Kelley (husband Antonio Da Rosa), Ronald Kelley Jr. (wife Diamond Kelley), and Romar Kelley. He was the proud grandfather of Dasheen Ransom-Mixon, Kamari Hickman, Ronald Kelley III, and Ember Da Rosa. Ronald is survived by his siblings: Roy Kelley Jr., Charles Edward Kelley, Beverly Perrin, and Albert Kelley, and was preceded in death by his sister Betty Peele. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.

A man of many passions, Ronald was especially known for his incredible roller-skating talent. Gliding across the rink with effortless rhythm and style, he quickly became a local legend. He also loved playing guitar, and while he humorously admitted he never quite mastered it, he proudly collected several over the years. Ronald was a natural jokester, always ready with a witty remark or a perfectly timed story that brought laughter to everyone. His laughter was contagious, and his presence brought joy to every room he entered. Behind his humor was a deeply private man who valued strength, independence, and humility. Even during his illness, he chose to keep his struggle private-not out of fear, but because he didn’t want others to worry. His life was defined by love, laughter, loyalty, and legacy. Ronald Kelley Sr. will be remembered for the way he made people feel, the example he set, and the memories he left behind.
