Ronald C. Kenley Sr. was born on September 9, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, to Buriness Kenley Sr. and Clara Kenley. Ronald transitioned to rest on December 30, 2025 and is now reunited with his parents.
Ronald attended Columbus West High School and graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1971. He was a standout basketball player at both West and Linden McKinley High Schools. He later attended West Virginia State University and Central State University.
Ronald graduated from the Columbus Police Academy in 1974 and proudly served the community as a Columbus Police Officer until 1980. He went on to work for Central Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, where he dedicated 27 years of service from 1981 to 1998. Most recently, Ronald was employed with Franklin County Children Services.
Ronald enjoyed watching YouTube and Netflix and loved researching and fact-checking. His favorite saying was, “Hey Google.” He also enjoyed fishing, basketball, football, cars, bowling, and dogs. Ronald loved spending time with his family and was always the life of the party—cracking jokes and making people laugh. He adored his grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events.
Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Kenley; father, Buriness Kenley Sr.; son, Troy Kenley; and brothers, Buriness Kenley Jr. and Lee Kenley Sr.
Ronald leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughters, LaShawnia Belton, Sherron Kenley, and Symone Kenley; son, Ronald (Euronda) Kenley Jr.; grandchildren, Ronnie Kenley, Amir Powell, Makyi Belton, Elijah Kenley, Taelor Kenley, and Noelle Love; sisters, Bernice Basden and Shelly (Kevin) Phillips; brother, George Kenley; and many loving nieces and nephews.
