Ruth Ann Thompson

Ruth Ann Thompson, age 81, departed June 5, 2020 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital after fighting COVID-19 and Pneumonia.

Ruth was born November 11, 1938 to parents, Norine and Willie Gibson in Zanesville, OH where she later attended ICS Newport/ Pacific High School.

Ruth was a fun-loving person that enjoyed many things including singing, dancing, shopping, traveling, and going to Bingo & the Casino winning money.

After 20 years of Dedication, Ruth retired from the MRDD/YWCA where she loved teaching and taking care of children. She also loved feeding and clothing the homeless.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Norine and Willie Gibson; sisters, Roberta Workman, Naomi Norris, Margaret Tarver and Josephine Johnson; and brothers, John Wesley Gibson and Willie Gibson, Jr.

Ruth Ann Thompson is survived by, daughter, Charlotte Thompson; sons, Christopher (Deetra) Gibson, John Gibson, Howard Gibson, and Keith Gibson; special grandchildren, Terrance Conley Jr., Cameron Young, Amira Gibson, Andromeda Prysock, and Ivy Burley; along with a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

Private services Visitation 1:00 PM and Memorial Service 2:00 PM Saturday, June 27, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
