Ruth Mae (Smith) Williams was born March 11, 1935 to Jimmy and Dealice Smith in Benton Alabama.

Ruth worked many years as a sales clerk before retiring. She also served as a foster parent with Franklin County Children Services. She loved sewing, traveling and spending time with family. Ruth was known for her seamstress skills, she could sew and alter anything. She was also known for legendary sour cream pound cakes. Ruth was "Mom" to many younger women she worked with.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Dealice Smith, first husband Marvin S. McEntie Sr; second husband Johnnie Williams; brothers Jimmie Jr, Frank, Arzel, Eddie Louis and Bubba Smith; sisters Lucille Potter, Mary Alice LeGrier, Mildred Brown, Etta White and Mary Elizabeth Davis.

Ruth is survived by her son, Marvin S. (Zandra) McEntie Jr., grandsons Aaron McEntie, Nicolas (Bernadette) Ross and Brandon Ross; nephew Charles Cooper; Step-son Mike Tarrance; special daughters Faye Lester, Renata Banks and TaTanya (Albert) Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ruth was a member of Woodland Christian Church of Columbus, OH and First Missionary Baptist Church of White Hall, Alabama.
