Samuel Guice

Samuel Guice, age 79. Sunrise December 28, 1946 and Sunset August 24, 2026.

Samuel Guice was born December 28, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio. He departed from this life August 24, 2026. He was home with his family as he wanted.

Samuel (affectionately known as Butch) was educated in the Columbus Public School System and graduated from South High School in 1965. In high school, he was in the marching band and played safety on the football team. He married his high school sweetheart Cheryl (Sherry) and they had three daughters Kellie, Heather, and Angela. After high school, he joined the Army and was decorated as Sergeant at age 20.

Samuel worked for over 40 years in the HVAC industry as an HVAC Specialist and Journeyman. His employers include OSU, Rockwell International and DSCC. He retired from DSCC in 2012.

As an adult, Samuel regularly participated in bowling and basketball leagues; and won several trophies. His favorite football team is the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed OSU football. After retirement, he liked working in his yard and caring for the lawn. He always liked Cadillac cars and is an avid music lover.

Samuel is preceded in death by his parents Luda and Lucille Guice. He leaves to remember him with love, his loving wife Cheryl L. (Sherry), his brother Alphonso Guice Sr., his daughters Kellie Guice Turner, Heather Guice, and Angela Guice, his nephew Rev. Dr. Alphonso Guice Jr. (Katie), grandchildren Lamont Turner, Tamara McKissick, Lynette (Randall) Bell, Lamar Turner, Aliyah Owens, and Amber Owens. Great Grandchildren Lamya Turner, Iysis Jackson, Trinity Pippins, Lyla Bell, and Jade Pippins as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Sammy will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife, family and friends.
