Deaconess Sandra Kay Dalton

Sandra Kay Dalton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was called home to be with the lord on May 2nd, 2026. She was born on November 15th, 1949, to George and Elizabeth Dalton Sr.

From an early age, San accepted Christ and was a member of Antioch Baptist church in Ridgeway, Virginia. After moving to Columbus, she became a member of the Deaconess Board, where she previously served as the secretary. She was also a youth advisor for the Young Disciples of the Stone, and an honorary member of the voices of Triedstone where she traveled to support her sister, Sherry.

San was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers George Dalton Jr and Roger Dalton: sisters Mildred and Marilyn Dalton: nephews Garry, Chip, and Scott Dalton: her great granddaughter Elle Legg; her great niece Lauren Martin, and her brother in laws Robert Taylor Jr, Charles Dalton, and Dean Dalton.

San leaves behind her wonderful husband Dan Dalton, her sister Sherry Taylor, Brother-in-law Troy Dalton, sister-in-law Shirley Dalton, Geraldine Lowe, Dorothy Dalton, and Katy Dalton; her children Keith ( Padrica) Dalton, Kay Curington, and Keena (Tim) Majors. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends Mother Ella Lewis, Deacon James McGruff, Deaconess Andrea Green, and Deaconess Emeritus Sharon Adams.

San will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her unwavering love, generous spirit, sense of humor, love of storytelling, love for her family, and superb 2nd alto voice.
