Scott Raymond Hooks, Jr., age 45, of Columbus, Ohio, departed this life on Friday, August 29, at Grant Hospital, following complications from an extended illness. He was born on April 1, 1980, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Scott Raymond Hooks, Sr., and Leslie Hooks.
Affectionately known as "Scotty" and by many as "Slim Dawg," he attended West High. School, where he excelled in both basketball and football. Scotty worked alongside his Father as an electrician with Eternal Lamp Electric. He was also certified in heating and Cooling earned a black belt in Taekwondo and became a state champion. A proud Member of the Phantom Club, he loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his Friends. Scotty also had a well-known passion for fashion.
He was a charter member of Agape Christian Ministries, serving on the security team. And usher board. He also worshiped with the Resurrection Power Church of God in Christ. Scotty leaves to cherish his memory six children: Azzeion Raymond Hooks of Canal Winchester; Eraina Virginia Jackson of Marietta, GA; Zion Raymond Jahan Hooks of Marietta, GA; ZyQuies Keon'tree Morton of Sun Valley, NV; Justice Rayne Hooks of Columbus, OH; and Helena Larita Josharai Hooks of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by his parents, Scott Raymond, Sr., and Leslie Hooks; his siblings, Andrea (Lamont) Bowman, Ephraim Hooks, and Jason Hooks, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and special friends Anastasia Owens, Sherry Hopper and Terrence "Kinfolk" Phelps, who will deeply miss him.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
