Scott Raymond Hooks Sr.

Scott Raymond Hooks, Sr., age 67, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, departed this life on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with family and friends by his side. He was born February 20, 1959, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Willie Richard Hooks Sr. and Audrey Diane Freeman.

He was a proud member of Resurrection Power Church of God in Christ in Gahanna, Ohio, where he faithfully served as Head Usher. He also served with the Jurisdictional and International Ushers ministries. Scott was instrumental in growing the usher board, welcoming and mentoring members both young and old.

Scott perfected his expertise in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do for more than 30 years, achieving the rank of Master and earning his 3rd-degree black belt. He was affectionately known as "Master Hooks." His students, young and old alike, admired his skill, discipline, and approachable spirit. He was also proficient in the martial art of Hapkido.

Scott worked as an electrician and later in his career operated his own business, Eternal Lamp Electric. Through his work, he generously used his gifts and talents to help family and members of the community. With each project he completed, his extended family of friends and clients continued to grow.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Raymond Hooks Sr., and his son, Scott Hooks Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his Beloved Wife: Leslie Hooks; his Daughter: Andrea (Lamont) Bowman; his Sons: Ephraim Hooks and Jason Hooks; his Brother: Ricky (Deborah) Hooks; his Sister: Mickey Hooks and his Mother: Audrey Freeman. He also leaves a host of Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and many Dear Friends.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
