Sena J Hill-Jackson

Sena Hill-Jackson departed this life June 14, 2026, surrounded by her beloved son and family. Sena Jalola Etta Lareen Hill-Jackson, better known as “Angel” was born August 23, 1966, in Columbus, OH to Ernestine Lipsey-Hill and JC Hill. She was the baby of the family; so, she was spoiled and always got her way. Angel joined church at a young age, attending Refuge Missionary Baptist Church. Angel loved to sing and was involved in many church choirs around town. She attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from Mifflin High, class of 1984. Angel went on to successfully run an at-home daycare for most of her life. She also loved working with people with disabilities; she worked in various group homes around Columbus.

Angel’s greatest accomplishment was raising her only son, Travon. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. Angel was anxiously waiting to meet her first great grandchild, arriving soon. In 2017, she met Freddie and they later married in 2020. She also enjoyed going to church until her health prohibited her from attending in person. Then she faithfully watched church services online all day and all night. She would call her sister Sharon multiple times a day to share and exchange good services to watch. Every day, Angel would send prayers, scriptures, and positive words of affirmation to family and friends in hopes that one day they would be saved.

Angel enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. She loved to decorate, she was dubbed “Martha Stewart on a budget.” Somehow, she could always turn a little bit into a lot. She loved good music and loved to sing. Most of all, she loved her family and friends. Angel always thought of others before herself. She often made each person feel special by sending a card or a creative gift. Angel tried to make family events fun, she wanted to create valuable memories, most recently she had a pound cake bake-off. Through the many adversities in her life, she remained faithful to God, always praying for total healing of her body. Angel would talk about reuniting with loved ones in Heaven in her new glorified body.

Left to carry on her legacy of love: her husband, Fredrick “Freddie,” her beloved son; Travon Hill (Tricia Chan), grandkids; Cameron, Cassidy, Christian Hill, niece/daughter, Jameela Ridgeway, stepsons; O’Dell Jackson and Freddie Jackson III, sisters; Shirley Lipsey of West Palm Beach, FL., Sharon Day of Atlanta, GA., Renelda Woods, Sonya (Rev. Mike Dixon), Sherry Berry, Stephanie Bishop, Sheena (Andre) Lykes all of Columbus, OH, Jackie Jordan of Detroit, MI., Linda Hill of Highpoint, NC., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, special niece/caregivers; Tiara Hill, Tammie Hill, Kisa Walden, best friends; Lori Hill and Tony Thomas, special cousin, Sandra “Puddin” Hawkins, and special caregiver/neighbor, Miss Martha Camargo.

Proceeded in death by parents; Ernestine Lipsey Hill and JC Hill, daughter in love; Ann Hill, brothers; Don Lipsey, JC Hill Jr., David Hill, Ralph Hill, and Ernest “Ronkie” Brown, sisters; Nancy and Brenda Hill, brothers in love; Allen Berry II, Clarence “Eel” Bishop, Roy Day, multiple aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
