Sharon Renee Givens, of Springfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born on June 13, 1954, in Springfield, Ohio, to Constance L. Fowlis. Sharon was employed as a childcare worker at Oesterlen Services for Youth for over 20 years. She later retired as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) from the Masonic Home. She was also a devoted foster mother who loved to love.
Sharon enjoyed making others feel loved and accepted. Hosting big family dinners, where all were welcome and having her loved ones near brought her the greatest joy. She loved to sing and dance; good or bad, we all loved being part of her joy for life.
She was married to Hugh Givens for 51 years until her passing. She had three Children: two who mourn her passing, Hugh (Tanya) Givens Jr. and Kyra (Stephen) Tyler, and one who preceded her in death, Monique Birch all of Springfield, Ohio. Sharon also had two beloved Bonus Children who brought her renewed joy: Braxton Andrew Lytle and Nala Ruby Lytle. She is also survived by her Sister: Gayle Young and her very Special Niece: Ellia "Lil" Young, both of California-she loved you both tremendously.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory, ten Grandchildren: Adrian Chilton, Andre Chilton, Amani Chilton, Jacquan Mitchell, Ayanna (Lee) Givens, Ava Givens, Coleman Blocker, Stephi (Cassandra) Tyler, Jordan (Che'lee) Tyler and Sharon Tyler. A host of Nieces, Nephews, and Great-Grandchildren also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Constance Wilson; stepfather: Alfred J. Wilson; great-grandmother: Edna Fowlis; daughter: Monique Birch; granddaughter: Iesha Givens; great-granddaughter: Maia Jai Givens; special aunt: Sandra M. Barnes; special uncle: Ronald P. Fowlis and special nephew: Galen Young.
Sherrie was always there for others. If you needed a laugh, a meal, or just someone to listen, you knew you could go to her. She was not a perfect person, but she was a perfect example of how to live a meaningful and loving life.
