Shawn Demetrius Beard Sr.

Shawn Demetrius Beard age 49 passed this life on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at home after a brief illness.

Shawn was born on November 29, 1976, to the late Renetha (Beard) Reuer, and Elder Marcus Hood, in Mansfield Ohio, and was a lifelong resident. Shawn was employed at The Mansfield Friendly House where he loved working with children. He attended college at South University-Savannah. He enjoyed playing basketball, throwing darts, playing dominoes and watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Ohio State Buckeyes with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother: Renetha, Shawn was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents: Shirley (Beard) Felder and Willie Beard; paternal grandparents: Gertrude and Wesley Hood and brother: Anthony Reuer.

Shawn is survived by his Father: Elder Marcus and Stepmother Pamela Hood; Stepfather: Charles Reuer Sr. He leaves behind his Siblings: Charles Reuer Jr., Michael Reuer, Demarkco Reuer, Lance (Adrienne) Hood, and Brandyn Hood,; and his Beloved Son: Shawn Demetrius Beard Jr.

Shawn had an infectious laugh and was a friend to all that he encountered. He loved spending time with family especially his Beloved Son: Shawn Jr,: his favorite Aunts: Lou (Johnny) Owens, Darlene (Robert) Jones, and Florence "Cookie" Beard; Great Aunt: Diane Porter; Uncles: Douglas (Jackie) Beard and Delvin (Jowanna) Hood and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, including his Favorite Cousins: Nikki Beard, Mykeshia Gordan, Tony Beard, Jason Westerfeld and Jason Page. He also loved spending time with his Best Friends: Leoda Melton III, John "Dee" Bentley, Shane Smith, Anthony Jones, Thomas and Quincy Holder and Roy Coleman. Also, a special thanks to Leah McCalla.
