On the morning of July 30, 2025, Stratton Clark Medley Sr. peacefully transitioned into eternal rest, surrounded by his loving family. Stratton was born on January 13, 1949, in Whittaker, West Virginia, to the late Howard Lee Medley Sr. and Hattie Bell Medley. He was raised in Delaware, Ohio, where he attended public schools and began shaping the strong foundation that would guide his life.
In 1967, Stratton proudly served in the United States Marines. During his service, he was called home on emergency leave. Following his time in the military, Stratton pursued a career as a professional truck driver, working for various companies over the years. He also earned the distinguished rank of black belt in martial arts, a testament to his discipline and dedication. In addition to maintaining his physical fitness, Stratton held several of security guard positions, where his presence and vigilance were valued and respected.
Stratton was a protector and mentor to his family, firm in his values, devoted to structure, and full of love. He took great pride in being a father and grandfather, always striving to lead by example.
Stratton is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lee Medley Sr. and Hattie Bell Medley. siblings Ida Bell Medley-Smith, Viola Inez Medley-Bradley, Howard Lee Medley Jr., Charles Housler Medley, and David Cameron Medley.
Stratton leaves behind to cherish his memory: His children Sons: Stratton Medley jr., Nashee Medley; daughters; Tracey Chelle Medley, Thiara Medley, (his devoted caregiver) and Ashley Medley; His brother Robert C. Medley; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who brought joy to his life; As well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Stratton’s legacy of strength, love, and discipline lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
