Celebrating the Life of TaMya Shawntee Barnett
TaMya Shawntee Barnett (Mya) was born on July 12, 2005, to LaTanya Barnett and Quan Davis, and was lovingly called home on November 24, 2025. Though her time here was far too brief, her impact was profound, and her love remains immeasurable.
TaMya was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Joseph and Glenola Barnett, Alfred and Margaret Lawson, and her grandfather Clarence Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memory her greatest love, her son, Amontie Asiah Divine Ampaah, and his father/companion Chrysanthus Divine (Chrys) Ampaah. She is also survived by her parents, LaTanya Barnett and Quan Davis; her grandparents Terry and Brenda Barnett, and Joyce Dows; her godmother/cousin Crystal Gooden; her siblings Tyree Thomas, Terry Barnett II, Tranee Barnett, (Tommy Dennis), La Elsha Jones, Quanitte Davis, (Jasmine Turner); two nieces; eight nephews; and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, and friends who adored her. She also leaves behind special friends BrayLynn Krouskoupf, Lajuan Butler, and Guina Dieubon.
TaMya was a devoted and joyful mother who absolutely adored her little boy. She was a loyal friend, a bright spirit, and a young woman with a pure and generous heart. She lived passionately and loved deeply no matter whether she was on the softball field, basketball court, or living out her passion. TaMya was also a member of Morning Star Church of God In Christ. TaMya’s energy was infectious and her smile impossible to forget. Family meant everything to her, and she poured love into everyone fortunate enough to know her.
There will never be enough words or pages to capture how incredible TaMya truly was. Her presence was a blessing, her laughter a gift, and her love a legacy that will continue to shine through her son and all who held her dear.
She will be truly and forever missed.
Until we meet again, Mya Boo.
