Thomas Michael Smith, also known as “Little Bit” was born May 27, 1979 was born to the late Rodger Ellis Felp Smith SR, and his mother Ollie- Rose Smith. Thomas was called home on May 10, 2025. Thomas was loved by everyone he knew. Thomas was a light and had a smile that brightened any room. To know him was to truly love him and to know that he loved you too. If you ever crossed paths with Thomas, he made sure to stop and talk. His genuine spirit, effortlessly contagious smile or special laugh could brighten any day.
Thomas attended Mansfield Senior High School and was working alongside his daughter to complete his education. Little Bit spent most of his career at Therm-O-Disc Inc where he remained for over ten years. His current role was with Ohio Valley Manufacturing. His morning coffee was a small but cherished part of his day. After a long day what he enjoyed most was sitting at the table, watching his favorite show (CSI) and taking a moment for self. Those cherished moments are the ones that truly mattered most.
In addition to his private time what Little Bit loved most was spending time and caring for the main women in his life - his mom (Rosie), sister (Melissa) and daughter (Rakaysha). His mother, whom was his best friend. He enjoyed their daily calls, and making sure she was taken care of. He was the best “Brudder” to his sister, assisting in family matters and always engaging in fun activities to do with family and heart to hearts. Little Bit was given the lifelong nickname by his siblings. His daughter Rakaysha known as “Molly” to him was spoiled with love. Every year he celebrated her with her favorite meal and a sheet cake not missing a party even in her adult years. If she asked, he answered. She was and will always be “daddy’s little girl.”
Thomas and Rodger (Manny) were brothers in life and brothers in the kitchen. Both brothers loved cooking for family and friends. He will always love his big brother Manny. Thomas (Little Bit) and Rodger (Manny) had an unconditional love for each other that no one could understand but them.
Little Bit loved his family. Nothing compared to a night with his cousins. The laughs would start the moment they walked in and rollover well into the next day. There was never a dull moment with Trevia, Quaina, Takara and Ashley Oscar. Little Bit also adored his aunt Carol fully. Aside of his immediate family, that was his favorite aunt. They spoke on the phone every day and told each other everything.
Thomas had a love for luck. He enjoyed bingo, casino outings and was not going to miss his number. Luck was always on his side, and he felt the luckiest with his partner Jackie, he believed she was his good luck charm, and she was his.
Aunts and Uncles: Tina Thomas, Carol Thomas, Albert Thomas, Earl Thomas, Jamery Jennings. Great aunts: Willia Mingle/ (Aunt Boot) Queen Gardner. Bonus Uncle: Uncle Charlie. Special partner: Jackie Jones, and her kids that Thomas loved as his own. Brothery and sister love: Kamesha, Mo Young, Jamar, Punch, Tremaine, Jermaine, Andy, Danny, and Tyrone. Thomas had a host of additional loved cousins, nieces(2), nephews,(6) great nieces and nephews (5), extended family and friends.
