Thomas Walker Jr.

July 11, 1956 — January 4, 2026

Thomas Walker Jr., affectionately known to family and friends as Thomas, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born on July 11, 1956, to the late Thomas Walker Sr. and Elizabeth Walker-Green.

Thomas was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1974. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After completing his military service, he returned home and trained through Cleveland’s Adult Vocational Programs on East 55th Street, beginning a career marked by hard work, skill, and dedication.

Thomas later relocated from Akron, Ohio, to Columbus, Ohio, where he continued his career as a sheet metal worker. He retired from Local Union 24, a trade and union he took great pride in throughout his working years. In his personal life, Thomas found joy in riding his motorcycle, skating, fishing, and traveling. He cherished the freedom of the open road and valued time spent doing the things he loved most.

Thomas was united in marriage to Kim Annetta Patilla. While no children were born from this union, he was a devoted and loving stepfather to Durrell Patilla. Thomas also lovingly cared for his niece, the late Desoray Patilla, and her daughter, his great-niece, Damiya Tarpeh, whom he held close to his heart.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Gwenita Michele Tolbert (Jerry Tolbert); two grandchildren, Gregory L. Wallace Jr. and Mishayla Elizabeth Moss; and three great-grandchildren, Gino Messiah Sly-Wallace, Cobi Michele Sly-Wallace, and Marlo Milan Sly- Wallace, all of Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is also survived by his siblings, Marzell Walker, Diane Walker-Barnes, Ramona M. Walker, Adolph Walker Sr., and half-brother Sedrick K. Walker, all of Cleveland, Ohio; his brothers-in- law, Lugene T. Patilla and Eric Patilla; one aunt, Beatrice Beard of Cleveland, Ohio; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Thomas Walker Jr. will be remembered for his strength, independence, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on through the generations he leaves behind and the lasting memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
