Loving Memory of My Beloved Sister
Today, we celebrate the life of a God-fearing, prayer warrior who walked faithfully with the Lord and touched every life she encountered. She was a woman who always put her family first — loving, nurturing, and supporting everyone around her with a heart full of grace.
Elaine now joins eternal rest, her beloved husband Larry Billings, her beloved parents, Adell and Ralph Knight Sr, sister Dorothy Pitts, bothers, Ralph Knight, Raymond Knight, Roger Knight, and Denwood Knight.
She leaves, to cherish her memory, her sisters Rosetta Evans and Debbie Goins, dear friend and sister Denise Smith, several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who were blessed with her presence.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Tie Elaine Billings was a proud graduate of East High School. She was employed at Xerox for many years. Later, she relocated to Los Angeles, California; where she made her home for more than 40 years. She was a school bus driver for Laidlaw and a city bus driver for LA Metro, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service.
She was generous beyond measure, giving freely of her time, love, and wisdom. Her laughter could fill a room, and her clever, crafty words could bring both joy and comfort to anyone who needed it. She had a special gift for making others feel seen, loved, and valued.
Though she had no children of her own, her love knew no bounds. Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy - her children in every way that matters. She poured into their lives with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering encouragement. She taught her nieces the importance of self-care, grace, confidence and strength, and to enjoy life. Her nephews were uplifted as men and leaders, regardless of their age - always treated with the respect and dignity she believed they deserved.
Elaine had a passion for life and believed in celebrating every moment. She was the ultimate hostess, ensuring every get together was filled with laughter, music, good food and cherished moments. She leaves behind a legacy of love; faith and joy will live in the hearts of all who know her.
We love you so much, sis. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your spirit, strength, and love will continue to guide us. Rest peacefully in the arms of our Savior until we meet again.
