Tommie Martin III was born in Salina, Kansas on December 9, 1962 to Connie C. Martin and Tommie Martin Jr. He ascended into Heaven on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Prestige Gardens in Marysville, Ohio.
Tommie attended Independence High School, Columbus, Ohio, graduating in 1981. He later attended Winston Salem State University majoring in Business Administration. He went on to become a certified electrician and founded his own electrical business, Always On Electric.
Over the years, Tommie’s sparkling personality and speaking capabilities allowed him to develop many loving and long-lasting friendships. Tommie did not meet any strangers.
Utilizing those gifts along with his master electrical skills, he was able to obtain numerous long-term electrical contracts with loyal customers. He was a founding member of Black Tie Limousine Services where he served as the lead chauffeur, driving celebrities such as Patti Labelle and Alexander O’Neal.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2244. Tommie is preceded in death by father Tommie Martin Jr.; mother Connie C. Martin; and brother Armand Martin.
Tommie is survived by his brother, Gregory Allen Martin; son Tommie Allen Martin IV; nephew Armand Martin Jr.; niece Ananda Martin; uncle David Butler; cousins Darrell and Damon Butler. He also leaves behind a large village of close and special friends who have been adopted as brothers and sisters and a host of other family and friends.
