Mother Virginia Williams

June 28, 1936 — August 5, 2025

Virginia Mae Williams was born June 28, 1936, the 5th child of Charles E. and Dorothy A. Williams of Columbus, OH.


Virginia was affectionately known as Ginny from a child and attended South High School.Virginia started her career as a traveling wrestler under the name Virginia Franklin. She then worked at T. Marzetti and Gateway Market before finishing her career at Lazarus where she worked for 38 years until her retirement. Virginia was an active member of First Mt. Carmel Baptist church. She was also a member of the Hugh Garnes Memorial Club where she enjoyed the annual club activities. 

Virginia was an outstanding cook and was known for her cakes, fudge and famous cornbread dressing among other things. She also enjoyed watching all Ohio sports teams especially the Buckeyes and could be found every Saturday cheering them on. Virginia deeply loved her family and would respond with "I love you more" when someone would say "I love you". She was proud of having 5 generations that started with her and ended with her great-great grandson Christian.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Williams, son, Tab Williams; grandchildren Victor Jr. and Victoria Walker and Michael Langdon, Jr.; brothers, Charles Williams, Jr., Robert Williams, Sr. (Rainey), Richard (Sue) Williams and Bobby Brown; sister, Mildred Williams; nephews Robert Williams, Jr., Thomas Williams, Darryl Brown; niece, Jacquelyn Allison and special brother Donald Fullum.Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, children Jacqueline (JD) Nealy, Debra (Alan) Rice and DeWayne Williams; grandchildren Brandie (Jeff) Watkins, Tamaron Jacox, Chad (Cynthia) Walker and Tanisha Rice; sisters Dorothy Brown and Phyllis (Ronald Allison); honorary sister, Betty Fullum, goddaughter Tahirah Mahan Thomas; special friends Karen Mahan and Ray Gray; an extended family of great and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
