Wendell Irvin Littlefield was born October 21, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Willard and Laura Littlefield. He was the fourth child of seven boys. He departed this life on January 15, 2026, following several years of health challenges.
Wendell grew up in the Milo-Grogan area where he and his brothers frequented the Boys and Girls Club. In 1958, Wendell was awarded Boy of the Year by his club.
He was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 1961. After high school, in 1965, he joined the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime VFW Member, Posts 3764 and 3424, and American Legion member, Post 430.
After serving in the military, Wendell met and married Imogene Love, and to this union Michele Renea and Wendell Dushon were born.
Wendell worked at the Columbus Coated Fabrics, serving 31 years before retiring. A proud union man, he served 19 years as the Vice President of the Textile Workers Union, Local 487-T. He even took college classes for a while at CTI (now Columbus State University).
Later in life, Wendell met and married Charlotte Hodge and to this union Lisa Nicole was born.
Wendell loved his family, hanging out with his wife and his brothers, especially Earl, affectionately called PeeWee. He especially loved going over his cousin Wanda Kelley’s for cookouts, holiday dinners and events.
Wendell was an avid fan of all sports, especially football, tennis and golf. He loved to shoot pool and was on several winning bowling league teams. He enjoyed watching Venus & Serena Williams and Tiger Woods dominate in their sports. He was a lifetime, tried and true Cleveland Browns fan, and stuck with them through every season, good and bad.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Williard Jr., Donald, Wayne and Michael Littlefield. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years Charlotte, caring daughters Michele Bondurant and Lisa Golden, and loving son Wendell (Shon) Littlefield; grandchildren, Portia Fields, Jazmyn and Kiana Bondurant, Jaylen (Ann) and Tazhuan Littlefield, Khari and Kennedi Golden; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Earl (Margaret) and Dwight Littlfield; special cousin Wanda Kelley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wendell was known for his cool and gregarious demeanor, big smile and laugh. Although illness took its toll, he still had a positive outlook and spirit. He will be sorely missed by all.
