William E. Dear Sr., affectionately known as "Bill," peacefully departed this life on May 22, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio. Bill was born on January 26, 1945, to the late Charles E. Dear and Leola (Barnes) Adams. He was raised in Pataskala, Ohio, where he developed a strong sense of family, faith, and perseverance. He attended and graduated from Licking Heights High School, carrying those values with him throughout his life.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Bill took great pride in providing for his family. He retired from Ohio Packing Company after many years of faithful service and later worked for The Clean Team Company, where he continued to build meaningful relationships and demonstrate his dedication to hard work and responsibility.
Bill was a man of strength, wisdom, and compassion who valued family above all else. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, which brought him peace and happiness. Bill was also a proud and devoted Michigan Wolverines fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite team every season. His quiet strength, caring spirit, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
In addition to his love for family and friends, Bill was actively involved in his community. He proudly served as President of the Brothers of Blanch Addition, reflecting his commitment to leadership, fellowship, and service to others.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted Life Partner: Sharon Davis; his Sons: William E. Dear Jr., Daryl (Lea) Dear, and Franklin (Louise) Dear; his Brother: Michael (Jane) Dear; and his Sisters: Lillie Ann Dear and Donna Jean (Paulette) Dear. He also leaves behind the Davis, Booker, Harrison, and Franklin families, along with a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Bill's life was a testament to hard work, love, and dedication to family and community. Though he has departed from our sight, the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
