William Preston Hairston, III, age 64, also known as "Preston" or "Bill", unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on December 9, 1960, to William and Mildred Hairston. He graduated from Horace-Man High School in 1978. He then served in the United States Navy. William also worked at Hugh White Honda for several years.
Preston was always someone full of life. If you knew Preston, you knew that there was never a dull moment. You never knew what he was going to say or even possibly do. Preston had a passion for cooking and going fishing. He was one happy camper when he found out earlier that morning that he was going to catch some fish. He also enjoyed showing off with his dance style, doing what we called "acting up." He had an eye for fashion and loved when it was time to get dressed. Preston loved his family. He will be missed by many.
Preston is preceded in death by his birth parents, William and Mildred Hairston, and a very special mother, Josephine(Honey) Hairston.
Left to cherish his memory, the love of his life for 40 years, his wife Patricia Spotts-Hairston; children, William (Amber) Morris, Tyra Spotts, TyEarl(Queena) Spotts, and Patrick (Sharla) Spotts; brothers, Kevin Hairston and Dana White; grandchildren, Tyla Prestoniece Long-Spotts, Shaniya Morris, Allanah Morris, Tyja Spotts and Aniyah Morris; special aunt, Sandra Hairston; special cousins, Lawrence Hairston, Daryl Burkes, Craig Wilkes and Clifford Wilkes; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; including his special four-legged baby, Wings.
