Woodrow Amos was born on March 18, 1956, in Troy, Alabama, to Mae Ida Amos and Roosevelt Amos. His parents soon after relocated to Columbus, Ohio, and had seven more children. As a young boy, Woodrow was always curious and busy with his hands, taking apart TVs and radios and putting them back together. He loved to build and fix things. Woodrow attended Milo Elementary School, Monroe Junior High School, and East High School. Woodrow gave himself the nickname “TC” for Top Cat when he was a teenager, and he has been known as TC by his friends and family ever since.
Woodrow accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1976. He married the love of his life, Audrey Campbell of Weirton, West Virginia, on June 30, 1979.
Woodrow always had an interest in and a gift for painting, building, refurbishing, and constructing. There was nothing he could not do with his hands, and his finished work was always a masterpiece. He became an entrepreneur at an early age and started his business, TC’s Painting and Maintenance Company. He went on to establish several other businesses and worked for other contractors, including McDaniel’s Construction Company. Woodrow was a General Contractor and Owner of Total Service Unlimited, LLC from 2009 to the present. Some of his handiwork can be seen at Marlan Gary’s Chapel of Peace, north and east locations, Resurrection Power COGIC, Shiloh Christian Center, International Christian Center, and so much more.
Woodrow loved the Lord and was a true worshipper, prayer warrior, and prophet. He loved working as a sound technician at his church, being part of the D-Man prayer group and Bible studies, and he also enjoyed blowing his shofar. Woodrow was very supportive, especially of young people, and he loved to encourage them to pursue their dreams.
Over the years, Woodrow served as a member at Rhema Christian Center under Bishop Lafayette Scales, International Christian Center (ICC) under Tyus Nedd, and Shiloh Christian Center under his brother, Bishop Johnny Amos.
Woodrow was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Amos; his mother, Mae Ida Amos; his brother, Randy Amos, Sr. and nephew Randy Amos, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Audrey Amos; brothers James (Denia) Amos, Jeremiah Amos, Timothy Amos, and Johnny (LaShaun) Amos; sisters Deborah Amos and Patricia (Larry) Howard; his nephews, Romeo (Alicia) Amos, Travis Amos, Michael Amos, Josiah (Lily) Amos, Jordan Amos; nieces, DeShawna Amos, Tomorrow Amos, Jessica (Keith) Marcum, Traiana Amos, and Lisa (Weldon) Hager; his great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins.
Woodrow had many special friends that he considered family: Will Pace and the Pace family, Tyus and Pat Nedd, Duane and Debbie Tribune, and Bill and Connie Burgess.
Woodrow was loved by so many and will be greatly missed! His friends and family find strength and peace in knowing that he is in the presence of the Lord and will be blowing his shofar in heaven for eternity!
