In the beginning of Patricia’s life, she had obstacles to overcome considering she was born with a whole in her heart. Her health was one thing that showed her how powerful her life would be, by giving it all to God.

Later in life her parents relocated to Columbus Ohio where Patricia went to East high school where she graduated from in 1967. Not much longer after her graduation she met a gentleman by the name of Fred Johnson they later married in 1970. In this marital bliss they had 3 beautiful daughters Pamela, Jaida and Nicole.

Evangelist Powell was call into pastoral ship. Pastor Powell was ordained by Pastor, overseer Mary Beard of Saint Mary’s temple. Pastor Powell founded and began her own ministry and church in 1995 namely Walk by Faith Temple Ministries.

As God continued to bless Pastor Powell, she was able to move her ministry and church to several locations to reach different communities. She was over Helping Hands Program which fed the homeless and the hungry without any prejudice. Pastor leaded an outreach program for Walk by Faith while working alongside with Power of Prayer Ministry under Apostle Colette Jones. Pastor Powell also had her heart and hands in Toys for Tots to make sure that every child would not go without a Christmas meal or waking up without something under the tree.

In the process she had found new love with her husband L. Bruce Powell they married in 1988 in California.

Patricia was known for her sweet personality, spirit, and soul. Dr. Powell was a spiritual mother an ordained pastor of many churches, a friend, and counselor to all that needed her. Pastor had been trained in prophetic ministry at Christian International College in Santa Rosa, Florida. A graduate of the Institute of Biblical Studies, graduating with an 88% average. The Power of Prayer Church Ministries extends our deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Patricia Powell. We honor the life and times of this precious, gentle woman of God. She is known throughout the community as a person of faith. She has ‘walked by faith’ her entire life. Our hope is in Christ Jesus, the Bible encourages unwavering faith. Dr. Powell’s life reflected the unwavering faith expressed in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the Faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a Crown of Righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto all them also who love His appearing.” Farewell, my dear friend, until we meet again.

On January 14, 2021, God had an opening in Heaven that needed to be filled so He decided to call your name for you was next in line. God has gained another angel that was very dear to everyone. On behalf of the Jones family, we send our deepest condolences to my brother-in-law Mr. William Burton of Charleston, WV. May each of the family members find comfort in knowing that your loved one is suffering no more. Revelation 21:4 tells us, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” May God bless each of you during this time and stay encouraged. Aunt Trish will truly be missed here on earth but will forever be in our hearts.

Condolence from Karen Castle on January 21st, 2021 8:17 am

I have been trying to think of what I can say and am very much now mindful that I can not call you up for help. After almost 48 years it is a strange place for me. But in knowing you and thinking of you we both understood where our ultimate strength comes from. So now I am leaning on that strength and expressing to you and your entire family and friends that, I LOVE YOU, Always

Karen
