Patricia A. Saunders was hard working, lovable, kind business savvy woman who at an early age came from Russellville, Alabama with her parents, Lonnie, and Jessie, and two brothers, Charles and Larry.
While growing up on the east side of Columbus, Patricia received Christ as Lord and Savior at Ebenezer Baptist Church and Macedonia Baptist Church.
While in high school she started her banking career with City National Bank which later became Bank One, then became Chase Bank. While working for the bank she got her BS degree in Business from Franklin University, then got her MBA from University of Virginia. She became the Chief Quality Officer for Bank One Eastern. From there she became Vice President and Program Manager for Bank Acquisitions where she covered a 14-state area. Patricia gave the bank 42 years of service before retiring. After retirement she volunteered at LLS food pantry.
Patricia was married in 1970 to 1975 to Deorman Saunders. On July 20, 2022, Patricia Saunders succumbed to a long and courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Patricia was preceded in death by father, Lonnie; grandmother, Jessi; and brothers Charles and Larry.
Patricia is survived by brother, Bernard Smith; nephews, Mark Murry, and Tyson; nieces, Alegra and Aja; and a host of friends and family.
Visitation 1:00pm and Funeral 2:00pm Saturday, August 6, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

I am so saddened to learn of my dear mentor’s passing last year. I was privileged to work for and with Pat for many years at Bank One. Her incredible spirit and ability to teach by example helped me rise in my own career, but it was her wonderful laugh and depth of knowledge and patience I will forever remember. God received an angel last year. My deepest condolences to the family.
