Patricia Yvonne Turner-Coleman, age 87, died at Grant Hospital in Columbus Ohio, on Friday April 3, 2020 of natural causes.

Born to George Carley and Mazerine Swann on February 13, 1933 in Maybeury, W.VA. She lived there, before settling in Columbus, Ohio. She started out in 1952 working in Columbus at the downtown Walgreen lunch counter, then she received some “keypunch” training at the Welfare Office. Later she became a keypunch operator for the magazine, Highlights for Children; she eventually retired in 1985 from Merrill Publishing company. Yvonne is survived by her siblings: Mae Mapp; George Carley Swann, Jr. She is also survived by herchildren: Douglas Charles Swann (Pamela), Wanda Ann Hunter, Mark Steven Hunter; Robert W. Hunter; William Patrick Hunter. Grandchildren: Yolanda Marie Stewart (Geoff); Carla Jo Maxwell (James); Paula Coffman; Bryan Antonn Triplett (Pammy); Leanna Lightner; Douglas Charles Swann II (Kim); Gabriel Lightner (Earlene) . Great-grandchildren: Brittany Marie Stewart; Ted Michael Wingo; Deja Williams; Courtney Marie Stewart; Kaiya Wingo; Kynteja Moss; Bryan Antonn Triplett II; Geoffrey Stewart; Sean Lightner; Kyle Joseph Wingo; Nieja Moss; Sydney Marie Stewart; Temaya Wingo; Azavier Lightner; Isaiah Stewart; Brya’n Triplett; Titus Coffman; Jamison Lightner; Douglas Charles Swann III; Gabriella Lightner. And Great great grandchildren: Ted Michael Wingo Jr.

Yvonne was preceded in death by, her spouse; Luke Edward Hunter; Andrew Turner; Taylor Coleman. Also preceded in death by her sister Claudine Azalea Swann and children Mona Yolanda Hunter; Luke Edward Hunter, Jr.

Her main interests and activities were her children, grand-children and Great grand-children; she loved them and loved to take them on trips to experience art galleries, the zoo and other activities that came to town.
She was an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and served as the Chairperson of the United Women Committee at Asbury for many years, travelling the country to attend meetings representing Asbury

Memorial Service 2PM Friday, April 10, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).

  3. The Asbury North family grieves the lost of our dear sister, Yvonne. She was a an active member for many years,She served as the President of the United Methodist women. A supportive member of the Hospitality Committee, When called upon to serve, Yvonne was never too tired to say yes. When she could not travel to church, Yvonne would make a point try to be supportive of her church. She wanted to be included regardless of her circumstances. We will miss seeing her come into church wearing one of her beautiful hats. To the family we offer our condolences.
