Paula L. Ortiz Santiago was born on March 2, 1942 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Her mother Paula Santiago and father Felipe Ortiz were also from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Paula attended Eugenio Maria De Hostos H.S graduated and married her H.S sweetheart Johnny Rivera. She then pursued her education at Mayaguez city college, which she graduated with a Bachelors degree as an administrative assistant. Paula then gave birth to her son Jorge L. Rivera, and also her daughter Maira Rivera. She worked for over 20 years as a Butcher. She retired and lived a long fulfilling life.
Paula went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2017 at the age of 75.
She leaves to cherish her memory with son Jorge L. Rivera Sr., 2 grandsons Angel Ortiz, Jorge Rivera Jr., 2 granddaughters Josievette Vizcarrondo, Michella Akram, great grandchildren Alexis, Ariella, Akira, Alicyanna, Sasha, Amilyah, Christiana, Mikaela, and Brandon, also a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at Marlan J. Gary Funeral Home The Chapel of Peace North 2500 Cleveland Ave on December 28, 2017 wake at 10:00 AM and service at 11.
To the family of Paula, I am so sorry for your loss. When someone you love dies, it is as if you have been robbed of a precious jewel! God knows how you feel because he had to endure the pain of His son’s agonizing death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.” May you rely on God’s promise that Paula live again!
Dear family we are sorry to hear about your loss death is difficult for family and friends however the Bible holds out hope for our deceased love ones found in the Bible book of John chapter 5 and verses 28 and 29. Why not read these scriptures in your personal copy of the Bible.
