Peggy Ann Underwood was born May 26, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to Dallas and Nancy Underwood. Peggy was one of six children.

Peggy Underwood was known for her amazing personality, her giving heart, her baked goods, and her tremendous amount of love for her family. Peggy loved her daughters, but she didn’t play when it came to her grandchildren, period! Peggy was active in her community, Nelson Park Apartments, where she resided for over 40 years. She worked for National Center for Urban Solutions (N.C.U.S.) to help better her neighborhood. Her memory and legacy will live on in all who knew her.

Peggy is Preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Nancy Underwood; brother, Dallas Underwood; sister, Donna Underwood; and nephew, Shawn Underwood.

Peggy is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Danielle and Tina Underwood; sisters, Eljean (Arthur) Charles and Jackie Underwood; brother, Ora Underwood; 12 grandchildren, 6 granddaughters, Danielle JR, Samina, Brenda, Keila, Derricka, and Symone; 6 grandsons, David, Derek, Earnest, Robert, Daniel, and Michael; one great grandson, Say’Vion; nieces, Tanya and DaShay Underwood; nephew, Anthony Underwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Peggy Ann will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Visitation 1:00pm and Funeral 2:00pm Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Miss Peggy from day 1 you took me under your wing and showed me the way in a place I knew nothing about. You looked out for my children and showed us what family is a looks like. I’ll never forget the smell of fresh bake goods flowing up the street or your voice calling Buddy. Your hugs were always warm and met with a Giiiirl how you been!! I’ll miss you but want to thank you for being the amazing loving caring matriarch of my life and many others. I love you more than you’ll ever know Aunt Peggy.
