Phillip S. Thorpe age 62. Sunrise April 23, 1960 and Sunset May 23, 2022.

Phillip, known as Lil Bit, was born in Baltimore, MD to Willie G. and Carolyn Thorpe. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio and attended East High School.

Phillip always expressed an interest in the arts; he loved music, fashion, and could draw just about anything. He worked in construction for many years. He was also a talented billiards player, participating in numerous local tournaments.

He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, gardening, cooking, and watching sci-fi movies. Phillip will be remembered for his huge presence, style, and quick wit!

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Willie G. and Carolyn Thorpe, brother Phil Thorpe, nephews Reginald Thorpe, Kenneth Thorpe, William G. Thorpe IV, Solomon Wheat, and Dion Lamar. Left to cherish his memory, daughters, Samantha Pennington and Keesha (Jerry) Black; sisters, Rosa Thorpe, Sheila (Ben) Obeng; brothers, William Thorpe, Cortez Thorpe, Alonzo (Felicia Woodfolk) Thorpe, Douglas (Thea) Thorpe; grandchildren, Kimani, Kerry,  Isabella Black and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Saturday, May 28, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd). To my friend Cortez Thorpe and family. Please accept my condolences! Philip has touched so many lives! I am blessed to have crossed paths with him from growing up and through his sickness at my facility of work. Praise God all day with your loved ones in heaven Philip! I will surely miss you!
