Racine Elizabeth Green was born July 8, 1941 in Crumpler, WV. She was the eighth of eleven
children born to William and Fannie Amar. She attended school in Glen Rogers, W.V.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist church in Becklev, WV. until she heard the voice of God
in 2005, then joined Heart of God Ministries under the direction of Bishop Fred T. Simms of
Beckley, WV.

Her favorite song and testimony was Rough Side of the Mountain. I’m coming up on the rough side of the mountain, I must hold to God., His powerful hand. I’m doing my best to make it in. Racine was well known for her acts of kindness. She fed many children in
the community of Beckley, and prepared fried chicken snack boxes for the youth department
on Sundays from her own kitchen

Racine departed this life on Saturday, June 15, 2019, Preceded in death by parents William and
Fannie Amar, husband John Green Sr., four brothers, Robert Amar, William Amar lI., Thomas Amar, Tyrone Amar, three sisters, Mary Amar, Reola Amar, and Cynthia Amar-Amison. Special Tribute to Troy Cheese (grandson) and Anaesia Green (great granddaughter).

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Velinda Green, Doretha (Duane) Hicks, John (Sandy) Green Jr., Raye Washington, Tammy Johnson, Charlotte (Adrain) Strickland and Lamont (Nicole-Fiancé’) Green, all of Columbus Ohio. Sibling’s two brothers and one sister: Samuel Amar of Beckley, wV, James (Doris) Amar of Roosevelt NY, and Janice Mayo of Beckley, WV. 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
Mom, you will always be in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.

Visitation 9:00am and Funeral 10:00am Saturday, June 22, 2019 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

The Spradley family mourns the passing of our dear cousin. Racine was always there for our family. Her closeness with Dorothy was indescribable. Sleep peacefully for you have earned this rest.

My sincerest condolences to the Green family. Racine was a wonderful woman, kind, happy and always there to lend a helping hand.
She would give good advice and would catch me off guard with her wisdom.
I know she left a huge void upon her passing that no one can fill. Goodbye my friend.
