ragellia

Ragellia Jones affectionately known as Kelly, was born May 28, 1975 to Rogellio “Rocky” Jones and Carrie Ann Dixon. She was a boisterous and outgoing child, adventurous and fearless from the start. Kelly attended Columbus Public Schools and enjoyed reading and learning new things. She was a self taught mechanic and enjoyed working beside her life partner Leland. Kelly enjoyed fishing. She also enjoyed learning new recipes and was most recently committed to learning to cooking her grandmothers special dish Sotanghon.

Kelly is preceeded in death by her mother, Carrie Ann Dixon and her brother, Ronald Dixon, her grandmother Salustiana Loangco Jones, and her Uncle Donato Jones. We know they will welcome her into heaven with hugs and kisses of love. They will cover her with and make a special place just for her amongst the clouds. She is in good company.

Kelly will be missed and cherished by her loving children, Keri Janel Marie Jones, Kierra Jones, La’Deral Hathman, Mohammad Borden, Ebony Destiny Jones and Octavian Jones. To know Kelly was to know that she loved her children with all of her heart. She valued family time and togetherness. She looked forward to every holiday because it was a chance to get together, cook, listen to music and act crazy with her kids. They say you can tell a lot about a woman by how she raises her kids and her legacy will be togetherness and love, which she instilled in them. Kelly strove to keep her tribe together. It was a driving force in her life. She would be extremely proud of how well her children came together to handle the business of giving her a most perfect farewell.

She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Ollie Louanco Marie Lewter ,NiAoki Amari Rae Jones, Kai’Dyn Leshaun Marie Jones, Kairo Nasir Thurston, Mecca DeShae Lì Jones, Nova Belle Jones, Maharianna Shannel-Dahna Borden, and Maharion Myontae Borden. She enjoyed cooking and dancing with her grandchildren. She loved to make videos with them and cheer them on as they had fun hanging out with their Gran Gran. She knew each and every one of grandkids intimately, down to being able to tell their footsteps apart when she heard them walking. Kelly strove to keep her clan together. It was a driving force in her life. She would be proud of how well her children came together to handle the business of giving her a most perfect farewell.

Kelly was a loving soul from top to bottom. She was blunt, honest and unfiltered. What you saw, was definitely what you got. Like it or not, right or wrong, she would tell you how she felt and let the chips fall where they may. She was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back even if she didn’t have much to share at the time. She was loyal and family focused. To know her was to know she was real and that is why she was loved as deeply as she was by those who love her. To know her was to also know her pain. She very much missed her mommy. She was profoundly impacted by the passing of her mother. She will be so happy to see and dance with her again in heaven.
