Reco Martinez Hancock was born August 1, 1978 in Columbus, Ohio to proud parents Darnella and Herman L. Hancock Sr.

He attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from Whetstone High School. Reco worked for Columbus City Schools attending school bus control with the children.

Reco was blessed and proud to have his children Malique and Reco Hancock Jr.

Reco was raised in higher ground under the pastorate of Bishop Sherman S. Watkins. He made his personal profession of faith.

On Saturday, January 1, 2001 following a serious car accident Reco became a quadriplegic, but that didn’t stop his life. He was independent, had his own place and van. He loved to cook out and laugh and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Herman L. Hancock Sr., and sister Santasia Hancock.

He leaves to cherish his memory; loving mother Darnella Hancock, sons Malique Hancock, and Reco Hancock Jr., brothers Herman L. Hancock Jr., and Antonio A. Hancock, also a host of nieces, two nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 12:00pm and Funeral 1:00pm Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St. Clair Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

Our sincere condolences Reco’s life will be forever embedded in our mind and heart. He will be missed, he is absence from this earth but his presences is with our Lord. We loved you Reco , but Christ loved you more. Rest until the trumpet is sound. The Lord is your keeper. The fight is over. One day our eyes will be the coming of the Lord.. Fly on like eagle wings.
