Richard D. Ford was born September 30, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Doretha Richardson. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Refuge Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam veteran and an avid fisherman.

Richard was employed with Crown Plaza for 27 years until his retirement. He received the White House Communication Agency Certificate of Appreciation Award on September 13, 2011. He was NBA LA Lakers and The Ohio State University fan. He enjoyed playing dominos, playing cards family functions and loved his grandchildren. He was full of jokes and had a great sense of humor.

Richard was called home to eternal rest peacefully on April 24, 2020 at the age of 68 at The Ohio State University.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, James and Doretha Richardson; grandparents, Jake and Betty Hoover; and brother, Milton L. Ford

Richard leaves to cherish fond memories, wife, Joyce Ann Williams-Ford; children, Catrina M. Glass, Jody Carlock, Brian (Tiffany), Eddie (Rebecca), La’Tasha and Tauja Ford, Deshaun, Tamika, Alex (Myia) and Richard (Shay) Williams, and Dominique Lowery; brothers, Jake (Betty) Long and James Richardson Jr.; sisters, Janet (Arthur) Conwell and Loretta Pardon; uncle, William Hoover; aunts, Bernice Davis and Geraldine Hayes; 34 grandchildren, 14 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Growing up in the Milo Grogan neighborhood, everyone knew the Ford/Richardson family. Those were the “good old days”, memories we all will cherish. Love everlasting. God bless all the family members and bring you peace in your time of grief.
