Mr. Richard L. Bryant Sr. went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Mr. Bryant was born January 4, 1931 in Danbury, Connecticut. He was a graduate of Central High School, an U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict, and retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics after 44 years of dedicated service. Mr. Bryant was elected the 1st Black President of The Columbus Bowling Association in 1975. Mr. Bryant is predeceased by his parents Carroll and Sarah Bryant, special Aunt Mercedes Butler and brothers Charles and Francis. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Jean Bryant, sons Richard (Linda) Bryant Jr., Robin (Vicky) Bryant and Reginald (Janis) Bryant, daughters Roxanne Cannon and Rowena Bryant, 8 grandchildren, Richard III, Roshun, Andre, Christopher I, Sarah, Brandon, Kimson and Nina, 7great-grandchildren, special nieces Delores Benson and Carolina Thompson and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Tuesday August 18, 2015 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE 2500 Cleveland Ave. Interment with military honors at Union Cemetery.
