Rick Anthony Lewis II was born on Wednesday, June 27, 1990 to Tracey F. and Rick A. Lewis in Akron Ohio. Growing up he always had a zest for life and was passionate about sports even though he wasn’t great at playing them. As the younger brother, he and his sister Natasha M. Lewis had a close-knit relationship and saw each other as confidants. He was a family man who spent a lot of time in Akron with his nieces and nephew as well as a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles.

After graduating from Buchtel High School as one of the top in his class, he attended THE Ohio State University where he majored in Logistics and Information Systems at Fisher College of Business. During his time at OSU, he became a member of the Iota Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity Inc. on 3-7-10. Throughout his time in school, he was committed to the brotherhood, and this continued even after college through his involvement in the Mu Iota chapter as a member of the Executive Board. While at OSU, he became an intern at JP Morgan Chase and has been a valued employee of the company for nearly 10 years.

Rick met the love of his life, Lacey, on graduation weekend and they remained attached at the hip whether living in the same state or not. Rick and Lacey enjoyed food, travel, their fur baby Loki and shared a love for their alma mater. They were married December 31, 2020 in a private ceremony and have spent every second of their union cherishing the bond that they share.

It’s no secret that Rick loved to cook and was pretty good at it too. During COVID, he started a successful barbeque business, Alpha2Omega BBQ, with his brother, John Payne. He was always the life of the party and loved to groove. His personality was infectious and anyone who interacted with him can attest to that.

Rick did not allow his cancer diagnosis to stop him from living life on his terms, continuing to party, travel, cook and spend time with family. Rick transitioned peacefully the morning of October 13th 2022.

Rick is preceded in death by grandparents, Robert Thomas II, Marjorie (June) Lewis, and Wayne Lewis, aunts, Brenda (Weems) Lewis and Kim Lewis; uncles, Travance K. Anderson and Eric Clements; cousins, Robert L. Thomas IV, Dominick “Twon” Lewis, and Ericka D. Weems.

Rick is survived by his wife, Lacey (Nichols) Lewis; parents, Rick A. Lewis and Tracey F. Lewis; sister, Natasha M. Lewis; nieces and nephew, Cameron, Malachi, and Alexis Williams; grandmother, Samantha Gibson; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
