Robert Terryll “Terry” Coats Sr., son of the late Robert Coats and Helen Ruth Coats-Parks was born on August 31, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1977. He also
received a computer engineering degree from Bell & Howell Technical School. At an early age, he had a love for track and field and was affectionately called “Squat”. He also owned multiple businesses and
was an entrepreneur by nature. He worked for National City bank for over 20 years.

At age 23, he professed his faith in Jesus and joined Greater Bethlehem Temple where he was a dedicated Sunday school teacher, deacon and fatherly figure to many. This would also be where he met and married
the love of his life, the late Geraldine Coles. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on May 8, 1982. From this union, they were blessed with five children. Geraldine Coats proceeded him in death on December
29, 2012.

Later he would join End Temple Apostolic Church where he exemplified through his love and dedication as a faithful deacon.

He was also proceeded in death by his father; Robert Coats; Sister, Dianne Coats-Harris; and Brother, Eric Coats.

He leaves behind his legacy; Andressa Coles; Ayanna (Sean) Revels, Tamika (Michael) Woods, Robert Coats, Ryan (Tia) Coats, Tiara and Miara Pack; daughter-niece. Mr. Coats is survived by his mother, Helen Ruth (Frederick) Coats-Parks; Sister, Deborah Coats; twin sister; Renee (Mark) Barbour; Sister, Mary Coats; brother; Shawn Coats, Sherry Parks; brother, Frederick (Carla) Parks; brother, Roderick (Dean)
Parks; Sister; Adriene Parks and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation 9am Funeral 10am End Time Apostolic Church 650 S. Warren Ave 43204.

Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
